Opticos takes lead of the development of a new IT Strategy for the digital era. The work was conducted for, and in close cooperation with the client, a leading Global Manufacturing company.

Our Client
Our client is a leading Manufacturing company with 15 000 employees operating in over 80 countries with a yearly turnover of 40 BSEK.

Background and Scope
Due to digitalization challenges the previous IT Strategy was no longer relevant.
A new IT strategy addressing the new and coming challenges was required both from the business divisions as well as the global IT organization.

Opticos Role
Opticos was asked to lead the work to develop the new IT Strategy.
The work was conducted in close collaboration with the different business divisions as well as IT Management.
Together with key stakeholders, Opticos evaluated different IT strategy models as well as high level design principles.

Results
Based on the set foundation, through workshops and stakeholder meetings, an IT strategy with all required aspects was developed, widely presented and accepted within expected timeframe.The last step was to transform the IT Strategy into a relevant roadmap, with deliverables, dates and named sponsors for the different workstreams.To ensure success and tracking, a set of KPIs was designed.

New IT roadmap addresses changes in digital customer behavior and supports long term business growth. Opticos facilitated the development of the IT roadmap for a leading Global Manufacturing company. The work was conducted in close cooperation with senior business leaders and subject matter experts across the company.

Background and Scope
A holistic long-range IT roadmap was needed due to large growing technical debt, material underinvestment in business applications, ERP systems and core IT, as well as accelerating pace of change in digital customer behavior.

Opticos Role
Opticos was asked to facilitate and document the workshops with business leaders and subject matter experts to develop the IT Roadmap.

The work was conducted in close collaboration with the different business divisions, the IT Management and the transformation team.

Results
The IT roadmap was developed within the agreed time frame and was approved by Group Management.

The IT roadmap enables significant investment within online presence and sales, building specific business capabilities and foundation capabilities to support long term business growth.

The IT portfolio process and governance were updated to support a smooth execution of Projects.

Considerable cost efficiency effects - results of sourcing project

Opticos has successfully led the sourcing of new solutions and re-sourced current services for a global IT organization, enabling the client digital strategy. This effort  was in close cooperation with Business stakeholders, IT management and Procurement management of an Industrial global company.

Our client is an advanced industrial company with 18 000 employees operating in more than 35 countries.

Background and Scope
The client had a non-organized multi-vendor landscape with scattered license and T&M services setup with overlapping technologies and solutions requiring unique license setups with high costs. The client wanted a consolidated service and license model to ensure cost efficiency to be secured in combination with  alignment with Business and IT stakeholders on technology roadmaps.

Opticos Role
Opticos was asked to lead the work to set the strategy for the consolidated services and license model by defining the sourcing and cost efficiency frames. The work was conducted in close collaboration with the different business stakeholders, on SME to executive level, as well as IT Management. Opticos created the framework for sourcing and business case requirements.

Results
The sourcing team developed sourcing framework, process and governance for IT services and licenses. The cost efficiency was achieved by close cooperation of Suppliers, Stakeholders and IT sourcing management. The success was the clients continued strive of fulfilling new consolidations.
